Digging the basement-floor trench

The trench is dug. The vent assembly sticks up, with toilet drain visible at right. The shower drain is off to the left, and the sewer-line pipe will connect down the center. The drain pipe has been extended (center), shower drain sticks up at left. The toilet drain can still be seen sticking up on the right. End of Day 1! The trench is cemented over. The toilet drain is visible at lower left, the vent is connected in the center, and the shower base has been installed on the right.

Sewer pipe exposed and snapped for fitting installation. Cast iron fitting installed and connection to plumbing tree made.
