Peter Barr and Tony Webster are the chief cooks and
bottle-washers behind the Presto Bathroom.
Peter (left) and Tony (right) live in Minneapolis - Peter in the Whittier neighborhood of south
Minneapolis and Tony in north Minneapolis's Camden community.
Peter, a native of London, England and a former general contractor, has
brought a craftsman's skill and an artisan's touch to his work.
A home renovation designer and a builder, he has brought many older Twin Cities
homes back to life, adding his signature copper elements in various clever
details. Peter has a bachelor's in architecture and has studied for a Master's
Degree at the U.
His ties to the community have been personal, too. Peter and his wife Jeanine
purchased a turn-of-the-century Whittier mansion and are steadily returning the
property to its former grandeur. He has also done significant work for Habitat
for Humanity and the Damascus Development Corp.
In fact, Peter first met Tony through his Habitat work. Tony, the former
proprietor of Dependable Plumbing, worked as a sub-contractor on many of Peter's
projects. Tony was so skilled he was hired as a plumbing inspector by the city
of Minneapolis - a job that only goes to the most knowledgeable plumbers. But
Tony & Peter still kept in touch, and eventually, hatched the idea for the
Presto Bathroom - a way to solve the vexing problem they'd seen often in their
work: finding a cost-effective way to add an extra bathroom to a home.
They can both be reached at Presto Bath's office number: (612) 872-0202.
